Well care is when your child is healthy and includes regular checkups. Well care is good for tracking your child’s growth and development as well as discussing any concerns you have. Well care visits are a good time to focus on your child’s wellness before they’re sick. Talking to your pediatrician about ways to improve care and prevent problems helps keep your child healthy.Double Click to Edit
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions we get the most.
What is well care?
Do you take after hours calls/visits?
After hours calls are answered by Nurse One at Memorial Health University Hospital. Nurses triage most telephone care, and one of our Board Certified physicians is available on call 24 hours. All Nurse One call reports are sent to our office daily. Walk in visits for urgent illnesses that cannot wait until scheduled appointments are available at 7:30am to 8:30am before regular office hours, at our Main office on Waters Avenue and our Pooler office.
Do you take insurance?
We participate in almost every major insurance program. These often change; please check with your insurance to see if we are listed, and if not, please contact our office, as provider panels are often slow to become updated. Our uninsured customers are given handouts with information on how to apply for:
What is sick care?
Sick care is when your child is ill, and they need immediate care…or, anything concerning about your child’s health, growth, or physical or psychological development, that you feel should not wait for the next well care visit to discuss. The visit will be focused on diagnosing symptoms and treatment for their illness or condition.
